Brand spanking new club night, 'Neighbourhood', drops in on every Wednesday to Sheffield's newest nightspot, The Viper Rooms. For the launch, Radio 1's Edith Bowman is hitting the decks on the 21st September so we grabbed her for a quickie.

So you're coming to Sheffield to guest appear at the Neighbourhood launch night - have you DJ'd in Sheffield before? Are the people of Sheffield a good crowd?
Yes I have, quite a few times. Really great crowd and always big fans of music. Love playing there.

Do you love a good bit of Indie?
Yes I do, I love a good bit of everything to be honest, something that gets a reaction and also surprises people.

What's your biggest crowd pleasing track?
That is the million dollar question. I never really plan much as I like to see what the crowd look like and feel like.

Which track is most played on your iPod this month?
The new Horrors' album, 'Skying'.

Which upcoming music stars should our readers be looking out for?
A new band called PET and Discopolis, and a track by Raized by Wolves called 'The Call'. And I'm really excited about the new Coldplay album.

You also DJ on Radio One – do you prefer radio or being in the midst of it as a club DJ?
I'm not really a superstar DJ and I do get very nervous when I'm on a stage
playing, much prefer being in my wee booth lost in the music

You review the latest film and DVD releases on your radio show – what's the best film you've seen recently?
The new Ryan Gosling film called 'Drive'.

As a Radio One presenter you getto interview movie superstars – ever been star-struck? And with whom?
At least once a week I get star-struck, I think when I don't it's time to think about changing jobs. Complacency is a very sad thing.

What's been your most memorable interview?
Leonardo Di Caprio - every time I have done him he is just refreshing and it's heartening that someone of his superstar status can be so approachable and lovely and down to earth.

Are there any celebs you'd love to interview?
YES, how long do you have? Madonna has a new film coming out and I'm really
hoping I get to chat to her about it.

How did you get into DJing?
Love of music really.

For all of those aspiring DJs out there, what advice would you give them?
If you know it's what you want to do, don't take no for an answer and don't try and be something you are not; people see through that very quickly.

Very early in my bed as we have no curtains at the moment.

Who did you last receive a text from?
My friend Gemma saying she didn't want to come and watch The Smurfs with me.

Any secret celebrity crushes?
Well then they wouldn't be secret anymore would they?!
